Cambria Kitchen Remodeling: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide

Cambria kitchen remodeling in Los Angeles typically runs $16,520 to $53,100 for a full project, with countertop-specific work starting around $2,360. We stock and install Cambria-compatible components same week in most cases. Most Los Angeles homeowners call us after discovering their Cambria countertop has chipped at an edge, separated at a seam, or developed a dull haze that won’t polish out, or when a cabinet run has shifted enough that the Cambria slab no longer sits flat. The good news: nearly every Cambria issue has a documented fix, and we quote the number in writing before anyone starts.

Which Cambria Models This Applies To

This page covers every Cambria quartz design currently in production, plus discontinued series we still regularly service across Los Angeles kitchens. Cambria countertops are manufactured in Jumbo slabs (132″ × 65.5″) and standard slabs (120″ × 55″), at 2cm and 3cm thicknesses, and the thickness is the first thing we check because it determines repair technique and edge-profile options. Look under the overhang near your sink, or on the underside of the slab, and you’ll usually find the Cambria design name and lot number on the factory label. Designs move in and out of “current” status frequently: if your slab is a discontinued design like Canterbury, Windermere, or Torquay, we can usually source a matching remnant through Cambria’s distribution network in Southern California, but the lead time is longer. For OEM Cambria materials versus aftermarket products, the rule is simple: anything structural (seam adhesive, support brackets) should be Cambria-spec or better. For edge polishing compounds and cleaning products, quality aftermarket equivalents work fine. One compatibility gotcha we see often: Cambria’s 3cm slabs cannot accept the same laminated edge profiles as 2cm slabs, so if you’re matching an existing island to a new perimeter run, you need to specify thickness before fabrication, not after.

Signs Your Cambria Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing

Signs Your Cambria Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
  • Hairline crack running from a corner cutout. Quartz expands and contracts with temperature swings, and a sink or cooktop cutout corner with less than 5/8″ of material left is the most common failure point in Cambria slabs. This is a stress crack, not a material defect, and it usually follows an undersized corner radius.
  • Seam separation you can feel with a fingernail. Cambria seams are filled with color-matched adhesive, and when the cabinetry below settles or the slab was under-supported, the seam opens up. In Los Angeles, houses on expansive soil see this more than coastal properties, because the ground moves seasonally.
  • Dull, cloudy patches that won’t polish with regular cleaner. This is acid etching, almost always from citrus, vinegar, or wine sitting on the surface. Cambria is non-porous, but the resin binder in quartz is acid-sensitive, and the fix is mechanical polishing, not more cleaner.
  • Countertop overhang bouncing when you press down. Cambria slabs carry a lot of weight, and an overhang beyond 12″ without steel or corbel support will deflect. This gets worse over time and eventually causes the crack described above.
  • Drawers catching or cabinet doors misaligned under the Cambria run. The countertop didn’t fail; the cabinet system under it did. We trace this back to loose leveling legs or failed hardware, which is why we inspect the whole load path, not just the stone.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For a Cambria-focused kitchen remodel in Los Angeles, the full range is $16,520 to $53,100; that spans partial updates to complete tear-outs with new cabinets, Cambria counters, backsplash, and island work. If the scope is only the Cambria countertop, you’re looking at $2,360 to $7,670 installed, and backsplash work adds $945 to $2,950. A cabinet refresh under a Cambria run runs $4,720 to $15,340. What drives the spread: slab design (Cambria’s entry-series designs cost less than their premium collections), slab thickness, edge profile complexity, seam count, and whether the cabinets below can be reused. Every quote we write in Los Angeles includes material, fabrication, demolition of the old surface, installation, seam color-matching, and the documented photo record. The written warranty covers the workmanship, not the material, because Cambria carries its own limited lifetime warranty on the product. Under Clause 1 of the Haven Standard, the price you sign is the price you pay; no change orders, no surprise line items.

There are things you can check safely, and things you should not attempt. Safe: clean the slab with a pH-neutral quartz cleaner and inspect seams, corners, and overhangs for the symptoms above. Not safe: trying to polish out an etch with a random orbital sander, re-gluing a seam with hardware-store adhesive, or attempting to shim the slab yourself. Cambria slabs weigh roughly 20 pounds per square foot, a full kitchen run can exceed 1,000 pounds, and the force involved in moving or lifting a slab incorrectly will crack it or injure you. The polishing compounds and seam adhesives we use are commercial products requiring training and ventilation. If you’re seeing any of the signs above, call (470) 298-9650 and describe what you found; we’ll tell you whether it’s a service call or something you can monitor before spending a dollar.
