Mr-Glass Kitchen Remodeling: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide

We stock and install Mr-Glass-compatible kitchen remodeling components across Los Angeles, and a typical replacement or upgrade runs between $16,520 and $53,100 depending on cabinet layout, counter surface, and what’s hiding behind the walls. Most owners discover a failed Mr-Glass part mid-remodel: a hinge set that no longer holds a door true, a pull-out track that binds, or a glass panel mount that has stress-cracked at the corner after years of Southern California temperature swings. The part fails, the kitchen keeps working, and the owner puts off the fix until the door sags far enough that it scrapes the cabinet face.

That’s the page you’re reading because that’s the kitchen you’re standing in. We’re Rowan Construction Group, an independent Los Angeles contractor, not a Mr-Glass dealer or affiliate. We work with the product lines daily, and we keep the parts that fail most often on the truck.

Which Mr-Glass Models This Applies To

Mr-Glass kitchen lines change their hinge geometry and glass-panel channel sizing between series, so the first step is identification, not guesswork. Look for the model label inside the sink base cabinet door or on the underside of a drawer box. The series number is usually stamped there. If the label is gone, measure the hinge cup diameter: 35mm is the most common Mr-Glass spec, but some older units use a 26mm cup, and that 9mm difference means the replacement hinge physically will not seat correctly.

The glass panel mounts are where Mr-Glass is most idiosyncratic. Panel thickness runs 6mm to 10mm across their lines, and the mounting channel is cut to match. Ordering the wrong channel means a panel that rattles or, worse, falls out of the frame. We keep OEM parts and quality aftermarket equivalents for the common series, and we’ll tell you honestly when an aftermarket part makes more sense than OEM. For the 35mm cup hinges and standard 8mm glass channels, aftermarket is usually identical in spec at a lower price. For the 26mm cup and anything with an integrated soft-close mechanism, OEM is the safer call.

If you also have KraftMaid, Cambria, or Silestone products in the same kitchen, we stock parts and material for those lines as well, which saves a second service appointment when a mixed-brand kitchen fails in two places at once.

Signs Your Mr-Glass Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing

Signs Your Mr-Glass Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
  • The door hangs low and scrapes the cabinet face. This is almost always a worn hinge cup or a stripped mounting screw. The hinge still looks fine, but the pivot point has ovaled out from years of opening and closing, which is normal wear, not a defect.
  • A glass panel rattles when the door moves. The mounting channel has loosened or the panel edge has micro-chipped. Los Angeles’s dry air and temperature swings between morning and afternoon expand and contract the metal channel, and over five to eight years that cycle works the panel loose.
  • A drawer closes with a thud instead of a catch. The soft-close mechanism has worn out. Mr-Glass soft-close units are sealed cartridges, not adjustable, so when they fail the fix is replacement, not repair.
  • You see a hairline crack running from a corner of a glass panel. This is a stress fracture, often from a cabinet that shifted slightly when the house settled. Los Angeles homes built before seismic retrofitting became common move more than you’d think, and glass mounted in a fixed channel doesn’t flex with the frame.
  • The pull-out shelf sticks halfway or drifts to one side. The ball-bearing slide is worn or one of the mounting brackets has pulled loose from the cabinet wall. This one is worth fixing early because a binding slide transfers force to the cabinet face frame and can crack it.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

In Los Angeles, a Mr-Glass-specific kitchen remodeling parts replacement or full component swap typically lands between $16,520 and $53,100. The range is wide because “kitchen remodeling” covers a single cabinet door repair on the low end up to a full cabinet layout replacement with new counter installation on the high end. We give you a written, line-item price before any work begins. That number includes the part, the labor, and the documentation: a written scope, a written warranty, and a photo record of what we found and what we did, delivered on the same visit.

Every quote we produce follows the Haven Standard, Clause 1: the price is written before anyone starts. No estimate on a napkin, no verbal number that changes when the crew arrives. If we open the wall and find something the original build hid, you’ll see it in a photo, read it in a change order, and sign that change order before work proceeds. That discipline has kept our projects within a few percent of the agreed cost across 4,000-plus jobs since 2007.

You can safely check the model label, measure the hinge cup, and set the door aside. That gives us a head start and confirms compatibility before we arrive. Replacing a hinge or a slide is straightforward work, but it goes wrong in predictable ways: stripped cabinet screws, misaligned door faces, or a glass panel that gets chipped during the swap. Glass panels under tension are the one place where we tell people to stop and make the call. A stressed panel can crack suddenly when the mounting screw releases, and the edge it leaves is sharp enough to need stitches.

For hinges, tracks, and channel mounts, the work is usually done in a single visit. For a full Mr-Glass component upgrade, budget a day or two depending on how many cabinets are involved. Call (470) 298-9650 and we’ll talk through what you’re seeing and schedule a time to see it in person.
