Jerith Roofing: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide
If you have a Jerith patio cover, carport, or awning roof that’s leaking or showing panel failure, Rowan Construction Group stocks and installs Jerith-compatible roofing at $470-$2,125 for repair and $9,440-$23,600 for full replacement, depending on the structure’s size and condition. That’s the price range we put in writing before anyone picks up a tool. Most Los Angeles owners discover a Jerith issue the same way: a drip trail on the concrete after morning marine layer, or a sag line visible from the street. What’s actually failing is rarely the aluminum frame. It’s usually the panel fasteners, the sealant bed at the eave line, or the standing-seam cap that was never re-torqued after the first two years of thermal cycling.
Which Jerith Models This Applies To
Jerith has manufactured aluminum patio covers, awnings, and carport structures in several series over the decades, and the parts do not all interchange. The most common lines we see on Los Angeles homes are the original solid-pan carport panels, the insulated sandwich panels, and the standing-seam awning deck. The compatibility gotcha: Jerith changed their panel profile width at least twice, so a panel from a 1990s installation will almost never seat correctly on a frame built after roughly 2005. Before we quote, we measure the panel width at the pan flute edge, check the fastener spacing, and photograph the end-cap stamp if one survives. That last detail matters because Jerith’s earlier stampings used a different alloy temper, and you do not want to mix old and new panel on the same run. For frames still square and sound, a quality aftermarket panel in the correct profile often gives the same weather performance as an OEM panel at a lower material cost. For standing-seam caps and eave closures, we prefer OEM or an exact-match fabrication, because those pieces carry the waterline and a half-degree profile difference is enough to fail in a January Los Angeles downpour.
Signs Your Jerith Roofing Is Failing

- Drip lines on the slab under the eave edge. The panel lap seal or eave closure has opened up. What starts as a slow weep becomes a channel for afternoon runoff by February.
- Aluminum panel sag between rafters. Jerith panels are rated for a specific span; when someone walks on them or a tree limb rests on the roof, the panel takes a set and cannot be bent back without cracking. That means replacement, not repair.
- Lifting or fluttering at the standing-seam cap during Santa Ana winds. The cap screws have lost bite. Left unchecked, the first big wind event removes the cap entirely and exposes the fastener line beneath.
- White chalky powder at panel seams. Galvanic corrosion between the steel fasteners and the aluminum panel. It means the fastener barrels are failing and water is migrating into the frame channels.
- Water staining on the underside of the fascia board where the roof meets the house. The flashing leg was never properly counter-flashed, or it has separated from the stucco. This is the most common failure we see on older Los Angeles houses where a patio cover was added after the original build.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
For Los Angeles, a Jerith roof repair that involves resealing panels and replacing fasteners typically runs $470-$2,125. A full panel replacement on a standard 12-by-20 patio cover lands in the $9,440-$23,600 range. What drives the spread is panel type, access, and discovered damage: an insulated sandwich panel costs more than a solid pan, a two-story eave line requires scaffolding, and a frame that’s been holding water will need channel drains cut before new panels go on. Every quote we write is a flat price with a written scope, under Clause 1 of the Haven Standard. The parts, the labor, the sealant, the fasteners, the disposal of the old panels, and the photo record of what we found and what we installed are all in the number. Our work carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it is not done right, we make it right. That guarantee is printed on the quote, not implied in a handshake.
DIY or Call Us?

An owner can safely check the obvious: look for a lifted cap, a visible crack in a panel, or a drip pattern that starts at a specific seam. What an owner should not do is climb onto a Jerith roof, because these panels are not walkable. They were never rated for foot traffic, and stepping between the rafters on a wet Los Angeles winter morning is how people end up in urgent care with a broken panel beneath them. The sealant chemistry also matters more than it looks: hardware-store silicone will not bond long-term to weathered aluminum the way the correct polyether or MS-polymer sealant will. FAQs
A Jerith aluminum roof that was installed correctly and re-sealed every five to seven years can last 30 to 40 years in Los Angeles, but the original panel sealant typically fails within 10 to 15 years due to UV exposure and thermal expansion cycles. The frame will usually outlast the sealant bed. Call (470) 298-9650 if you’re seeing leaks and we’ll tell you whether it’s a seal repair or a panel replacement.
Panels with minor seal failure can be re-sealed; panels with dents, cracks, or sag between rafters cannot be repaired and must be replaced. We’ll photograph the condition in our documentation so you can see exactly what we’re recommending and why. Call (470) 298-9650 to schedule a look at yours.
A standard patio cover panel replacement takes one to two days from tear-off to new panels installed and sealed. Carport structures and two-story eave lines can run three to four days depending on access. We’ll give you a written time frame with the quote, and every day on site ends with a photo record of the condition we left behind.
We carry the most common Jerith panel profiles in our Los Angeles shop inventory, including solid pan and standing-seam profiles. Odd sizes and insulated panels are order-in items with typical lead times of five to ten business days in the LA market. We’ll tell you at the quote which path your job takes. Call (470) 298-9650 and we’ll match your profile before we ever schedule the work.
