Tremron Driveway & Pavers: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide

If you have a Tremron paver driveway, walkway, or patio and a section has failed, settled, or cracked, we stock Tremron-compatible units and install them across Los Angeles. A replacement paver or localized repair typically runs $295-$825 for spot work, while a full paver driveway installation in Los Angeles lands between $8,260 and $21,240 depending on square footage, base condition, and paver series. Most owners discover the problem the way you probably did: a paver that rocks underfoot, a low spot that pools water after rain, or a crack that wasn’t there last spring.

The truth about pavers is that the paver itself rarely fails first. The base underneath does. In Los Angeles, where we get a rainy season followed by long dry stretches, the soil under a paver driveway expands and contracts. If the base wasn’t compacted in lifts or the edge restraint wasn’t installed correctly, the pavers shift. Then you get the rocking, the gaps, the creeping edge line. The paver is usually fine. The system under it is not.

Which Tremron Models This Applies To

Tremron manufactures pavers in several series that show up throughout Los Angeles driveways and patios. The most common we see are the Orlando, Jacksonville, and Tumbled series, along with the Mega line for larger format driveways. Each series has different dimensional tolerances, and here’s the compatibility gotcha most homeowners miss: Tremron pavers from different manufacturing runs can vary by up to 1/16 inch in thickness, which matters when you’re replacing a section and want the surface to sit flush. We always measure the existing paver’s actual thickness, not just the nominal spec on the product sheet, before ordering replacements.

Identifying your paver is straightforward. Flip over a loose paver and look for the Tremron stamp on the bottom or side. If the stamp is worn off, measure the paver’s dimensions in inches and note the edge profile: beveled, chamfered, or square. That combination of size, edge, and color tone (which fades over years of Los Angeles sun, so we match to the cleaned face, not the top surface) gets us to the right series.

As for OEM versus aftermarket: Tremron doesn’t sell direct to homeowners, so “OEM” really means buying through a Tremron-authorized dealer. Independent installers like Rowan Construction Group source through those same dealer channels, which means you’re getting the same paver, often with better lead-time visibility. Quality aftermarket equivalents exist for some discontinued Tremron series, but the color match will never be perfect. If the section is visible from the street, we recommend staying with genuine Tremron.

Signs Your Tremron Driveway & Pavers Is Failing

Signs Your Tremron Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
  • Pavers rocking or shifting underfoot. This almost always means the bedding sand has eroded or washed out through a failed edge restraint. The paver isn’t broken; the system holding it in place is.
  • Low spots that pond water after rain. The base material under that section has settled unevenly. In Los Angeles, this often traces back to poor compaction during the original install, and it gets worse each wet season.
  • Gaps widening between pavers. When the edge restraint fails, the entire field of pavers starts migrating outward under vehicle traffic. Joint sand falls through, and the gaps widen by fractions of an inch each month.
  • Cracks running through multiple adjacent pavers. A single cracked paver is usually impact damage. A crack line running across three or four pavers in a row signals a structural problem in the base, often tree roots or a failed sub-base seam.
  • White, chalky residue on the paver surface. This is efflorescence, common in Los Angeles where irrigation water carries minerals. It’s cosmetic, not structural, but if it’s concentrated at the joints, water is moving through the base and carrying dissolved minerals up with it.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Here is what we write on the quote, in dollars, before anyone picks up a tool:

Scope Los Angeles Price Range
Spot paver replacement (1-10 pavers, includes base patch) $295-$825
Section repair (up to 100 sq ft, re-bedding and re-compaction) $1,180-$3,540
Full paver driveway installation (includes full base rebuild) $8,260-$21,240
Paver patio installation $4,130-$12,980

What drives the range for a Los Angeles driveway: paver series (Tumbled costs more than Orlando), base condition (if the original base is salvageable we keep it; if it’s decomposed granite dust that’s turned to mush, we remove and rebuild), access (hillside driveways in Echo Park or Silver Lake take longer than flat lots in the Valley), and square footage. Every quote includes the paver material, new bedding sand, edge restraint replacement, joint sand, compaction, and our documented photo record of the work. Under the 365-Day Done Right Promise, if the repair fails within a year, we make it right at no cost.

Replacing a single paver that’s cracked is something a careful homeowner can do. Lift it with two flathead screwdrivers, scrape the old sand, drop in the replacement with fresh bedding sand, and sweep joint sand into the seams. If the paver sits proud, tap it down with a rubber mallet and a wood block. That’s the honest DIY scope.

The moment you have more than a few pavers moving, the job changes. You’re now rebuilding a base: removing pavers, excavating to the proper depth, compacting in lifts with a plate compactor, re-screeding, re-bedding, and re-installing the edge restraint. If the base is your problem and you only replace the surface pavers, they’ll shift again the first wet season. We see it constantly in Los Angeles: someone’s “fixed” driveway looking worse than it did before, because half the pavers are new and half are original, and the low spot has moved six feet to the left. If the base is compromised, call (470) 298-9650 and we’ll give you a written price to do it once, correctly.

FAQs

How long should Tremron pavers last in Los Angeles?

With a properly built base, Tremron pavers last 25 to 40 years in Los Angeles. What shortens that lifespan isn’t the paver; it’s the base. Poor compaction at install or water intrusion through failed edge restraints is what kills most paver driveways at year 8 or 9, not the paver wearing out. Call (470) 298-9650 and we’ll assess your base before you spend money on surface fixes.

Can a cracked Tremron paver be repaired instead of replaced?

No. Concrete pavers don’t repair; they’re solid units. A crack means the structural integrity of that paver is gone, and patch material will never match the color or the load rating. The fix is replacement, and since Tremron runs vary in thickness, matching the actual measured thickness matters more than matching the catalog number.

How long does a Tremron driveway repair take?

A spot replacement of one to ten pavers is typically a single visit, often completed in two to four hours including base patching and joint sanding. A section repair with base rebuild runs one to two days. A full driveway in Los Angeles runs three to five working days depending on square footage, access, and how much of the existing base we can retain. The written quote includes the schedule before we start.

Do you stock Tremron pavers, or do you have to order them?

We keep a rolling inventory of the most common Los Angeles Tremron series: Orlando in the standard colorways, Jacksonville, and Tumbled in select colors. Less common series and colors are special-order through Tremron dealer channels, which adds three to seven business days. We’ll tell you which situation you’re in on the first call.
