Franchise FAQ
You have questions before you invest. Fair. Here are the answers we give in the first conversation, in plain English, with the numbers we can share before an FDD lands in your inbox. If a question is not here, call (470) 298-9650 and ask it directly.
Common Questions
Do I need construction experience to own a Rowan franchise?
No. We would rather teach you the trades than untrain bad habits. What you do need is the ability to manage people, follow a documented process, and hold a standard. The construction knowledge is teachable. The discipline to operate under The Haven Standard is either already in you or it is not, and we will tell you honestly which one we see during the discovery process.
What does the total investment range look like?
Plan on a total investment that reflects a real construction business: vehicles, tools, initial inventory, insurance, licensing, and working capital for the first months before receivables start cycling. Construction is not a laptop franchise. The range is provided in Item 7 of our Franchise Disclosure Document once you complete our initial qualification call. What we can tell you now is that we do not sell you a cheap brand and then leave you undercapitalized, because an undercapitalized franchisee is the surest way to violate Clause 1: have it in writing before anyone starts.
Is financing available?
We do not finance franchisees directly. We will introduce you to third-party lenders who understand franchise construction businesses and SBA programs that recognize our brand. You will still need your own capital in the deal. A franchisee who borrows every dollar has no margin for the slow season, and construction has slow seasons.
Will I get an exclusive territory?
Each franchisee receives a defined territory in the Franchise Agreement, with boundaries based on population, drive time, and realistic service coverage rather than optimism. Seven trades under one roof means your territory needs enough households to support kitchen remodels, roofing, and everything between. We do not overlap territories. That would put two of our own people bidding against each other, which violates the entire point of a written price.
How long is training?
Expect several weeks of training, split between a primary facility and your own launch market. You will learn estimating, the documentation system behind Evidence on Every Job, the change order discipline that keeps projects within a few percent of the agreed number, and the hiring standard for verified crews. Training does not end at launch. You get ongoing field support, and the documentation system is the same one Rowan has used since 2007 across 4,000-plus projects.
What are the ongoing fees and royalties?
There is a royalty and a brand fund contribution, both percentages of gross revenue, with the exact figures in the FDD. We describe them the same way we describe our customer pricing: written down, before you sign, in a document you can take to a lawyer. What those fees buy you is real: sourcing depth across fifty-plus vetted brands like KraftMaid, Cambria, GAF, Kohler, and Belgard, plus the training, the documentation platform, and the standard that makes the 365-Day Done Right Promise credible.
How long does it take to open once I sign?
Realistically, several months from signature to first job. You need a license in your name, insurance, a vehicle wrap, uniforms, tool inventory, and a local crew that passes our background check standard. If your plan is to sell your first kitchen remodel three weeks after signing, we will slow you down on purpose. The brand promise is a written price before work starts, and you cannot price honestly until you know your market.
What kind of support do I get after opening?
Ongoing help with estimating, vendor pricing, and the administrative system. A live person answers our franchise support line around the clock, the same way a live person answers customer calls 24/7. You also get the Free Second Opinion offer as a sales tool, because reviewing a competitor’s written estimate line by line is the fastest way to earn a homeowner’s trust. The support is not a pep talk. It is documentation, pricing data, and someone who answers when you call.
Who is the ideal candidate?
Someone who can run a crew without needing to be liked, and quote a price without needing to be the cheapest. You should be comfortable with written documentation, because our customers receive a documented photo record on every visit. You should also be local to your territory. Haven does not pretend to be from anywhere. The local business is the franchisee, your license, your trucks, your neighbors. We provide the standard and the system. You provide the face.
What is the next step?
Call (470) 298-9650 and ask for the franchise team. We will walk you through a qualification conversation, then put the FDD in front of you. No countdown, no pressure, no vague promises. Just the document, the numbers, and a conversation about whether you can run a business under The Haven Standard.
