ES Windows Fence Installation: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide
ES Windows fence installation in Los Angeles typically costs $4,130 to $10,620, with most completed jobs landing between $5,900 and $8,200 for an average residential property line. We stock ES Windows-compatible fence components and can usually begin work within five to seven business days of your written estimate. Most owners discover a failing fence section the hard way: a gate that drags against the concrete, a post leaning after a winter rain, or a windstorm that exposed rot where the fence meets the ES Windows frame rail. By the time you can see the problem, the part underneath has usually been failing for months.
At Rowan Construction Group, our crews replace ES Windows fence lines, posts, gates, and hardware across Los Angeles every month. We’re an independent contractor, not affiliated with ES Windows, but we source their components directly and match their specs exactly. Grant Rowan grew up in the Crenshaw district and has spent two decades watching how Los Angeles weather, soil, and sun beat on exterior materials. The fences that fail first are almost always the ones installed without accounting for drainage. That’s the part nobody talks about, and it’s the part we check first.
Which ES Windows Models This Applies To
ES Windows fence systems are specified for their aluminum and vinyl window frame lines, most commonly the ES9000 series and ES5000 series. The fence components vary by window height and mounting configuration, not just by color. If your fence was installed with ES Windows products, the compatibility point is the post receiver bracket: ES Windows uses a proprietary 2-3/8″ post sleeve with a set-screw channel that differs from generic box-store posts by about 1/16″. That sixteenth of an inch is the difference between a fence that holds square and one that rattles loose in a year.
Here’s the compatibility gotcha we see most often in Los Angeles: homeowners replace a broken picket or rail with a big-box part that measures the right width but the wrong profile depth. ES Windows rails are extruded with a deeper channel than standard residential rails. The aftermarket part fits the opening, but it sits proud of the adjacent rails by a visible margin. It works until it doesn’t. For rail replacements, we recommend OEM ES Windows extrusions. For posts and concrete footings, a quality aftermarket equivalent from a vetted supplier is fine, and honest - the post is doing structural work, not aesthetic work.
To identify your exact part, look for the ES Windows stamp on the inside face of the top rail, near the post. It will show a series number and a manufacture date. Take a photo of that stamp before you call anyone. It tells us whether we can match your fence to the original spec or whether we need to field-measure every section because the original installation drifted.
Signs Your ES Windows Fence Installation Is Failing

- Post lean that started after rain. In Los Angeles, most fence posts fail because water pooled at the base and softened the footing. The post itself is often fine, but the concrete is undersized or cracked. We dig down, check the footing diameter, and replace the post and footing together when needed.
- Gate sag or drag. A gate that scrapes the driveway usually means the hinge post has shifted, not that the hinges bent. ES Windows gates are panel-heavy, and when the post moves even a quarter inch, the latch stops lining up. Forcing the gate shut makes it worse.
- Rails pulling out of the post brackets. The set-screw channels on ES Windows posts hold the rails under tension. When a rail works its way out, the screw channel has stripped or the post was never shimmed square during the original install. If you can push the rail back in by hand, it will come out again.
- Concrete spalling around post bases. That flaking, crumbling concrete at the base of a post is water intrusion. Los Angeles sees enough seasonal moisture shift that posts set without a proper drainage layer will spall within five to seven years. The repair means pulling the post, not patching the surface.
- Fence sections you can move with one hand. A fence should not flex when you push on it. If an ES Windows section moves, at least one post has lost its bearing. That’s a structural fix, not a hardware fix.
Before
AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
ES Windows fence installation in Los Angeles runs $4,130 to $10,620 depending on linear footage, post condition, gate hardware, and whether the old footings can be reused. A short run with two gates and good footings sits near the lower end. A full property line with deteriorating posts and one custom gate near the top. Here’s a straightforward breakdown:
- Post replacement with concrete footing: $180-$310 per post, including digging, setting, and haul-off.
- Rail and picket replacement (ES Windows spec): $24-$42 per linear foot, materials and labor.
- Complete fence section rebuild: $45-$68 per linear foot, including all hardware.
- Custom gate build and hang: $590-$1,180 per gate, depending on width and hardware.
Every Rowan Construction Group quote is a flat written price delivered before any work starts. No change proceeds without a signed change order. That’s the discipline that has kept our projects within a few percent of the agreed cost across more than 4,000 jobs since 2007. The workmanship warranty is in writing, and every visit includes a documented photo record of what we found and what we did.
DIY or Call Us?

There are things you can safely check before calling: take a photo of the ES Windows stamp on the inside of the top rail, note which post is leaning and which direction, and test whether any rail moves when you push it. That information saves us a diagnostic trip and gets your written estimate faster.
What you should not do: dig out a leaning concrete footing and reset it yourself. A post under fence tension that releases while you’re working is a broken-finger event at best. Same goes for cutting and re-hanging a gate. We carry the right shims, the right screw size, and a template for the ES Windows bracket spacing. If you want to see what we find before you commit, call (470) 298-9650 and ask for a written estimate. We’ll put the number on paper, with the scope, before we touch anything.
FAQs
An ES Windows fence with properly sized concrete footings and drainage typically lasts 18 to 25 years in Los Angeles. The aluminum and vinyl materials hold up well against sun and salt air, but posts with undersized footings can fail in under ten. We check footing depth and drainage on every inspection before quoting.
Sometimes, if the post itself is sound and the footing is intact, we can re-plumb and re-set the post with a new drainage layer and re-squared brackets. If the post is corroded or the footing concrete is cracked through, replacement is the honest fix. We’ll tell you which one applies after we dig down and look. Call (470) 298-9650 for a written assessment.
Most ES Windows fence section replacements take one day for up to 40 linear feet with two to three posts. A full property line with a custom gate can run two to three days. We schedule the work after you sign the written scope, and the crew doesn’t leave until the fence is square, the gate latches, and the photo record is in your file.
We carry common ES Windows rail extrusions, post sleeves, and gate hardware on our trucks. Specialty colors and custom gate widths are ordered to spec, usually a three to five day lead time in Los Angeles. If you need a part matched to a stamp on your top rail, bring the photo when you call (470) 298-9650 and we’ll tell you what’s stockable and what’s not.
It shouldn’t, and it won’t without your signature. Under our process, the written price covers the written scope. If we find something unexpected, like a buried root system where a post needs to go, you get a written change order with a line-item price before we proceed. Nothing proceeds without your signed approval. That’s Clause 1 of The Haven Standard, and it’s printed on every estimate.
If your ES Windows fence is leaning, dragging, or coming loose at the rails, don’t wait for the next windstorm to finish it off. Call (470) 298-9650 and schedule a free estimate. We’ll put the price in writing, show you exactly what needs to be done, and handle the rest. Measure twice, say it once, show your work.
