Toto Construction in San Antonio, CA | Rowan Construction Group
We provide independent Toto service across San Antonio, from Stone Oak to Alamo Heights, and also offer Toto repair in Austin. The thing that makes our Toto work different here is that we account for what’s under your slab. San Antonio’s split geology, expansive Vertisol clay south of Hildebrand and solid Edwards limestone north of Loop 1604, determines how a Toto fixture gets installed, reset, and kept level over time. Call (470) 298-9650 for a written estimate before any work begins.
Rowan Construction Group has been doing residential construction since 2007, and over 4,000 projects have taught us something specific: a toilet that rocks on a post-tension slab isn’t a nuisance, it’s a slab movement warning. We’re not an authorized Toto dealer. We’re a construction contractor that services Toto fixtures because remodeling bathrooms, walk-in showers, and tub-to-shower conversions in San Antonio means working with what’s already installed, and plenty of our clients have Toto Drake IIs, Ultramax IIs, and Aquia wall-hung models that need proper integration. That’s our lane.
Why San Antonio Residents Choose Us for Toto Service
We know Toto’s line the way a contractor should: by model number, rough-in spec, and failure pattern. The Drake II’s G-Max flush system behaves differently than the Ultramax II’s tornado flush, and the Aquia wall-hung’s carrier system has its own installation tolerances. Grant Rowan trained in construction technology at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, where estimating and framing were taught before hammer ever met nail, and that discipline carries into how we quote Toto work. You get a written price, a written scope, and a written warranty before anyone unscrews a bolt.
What sets us apart in this market is that we’ve done bathroom remodels on both sides of the Balcones Escarpment. We know a 1990s brick-veneer slab home in the northeast behaves differently than a 1940s pier-and-beam bungalow on the westside. That’s not marketing language. It’s what determines whether we shim a flange, reset anchors, or recommend a full drain line inspection before we touch the fixture.
Common Toto Construction Problems We Solve in San Antonio

- Rocking toilets on post-tension slabs. This is the Vertisol clay zone problem, and we see it constantly south of Loop 410 and across the east side. Drought cycles shrink the soil, the slab moves, and the wax ring shears. That’s a slow leak under your toilet that stains ceilings below and rots subfloor over time. We reset with reinforced rings and re-torque to spec.
- Scale build-up on Washlet nozzles and rim jets. SAWS water averages 250 to 300 parts per million hardness. That’s enough to clog Washlet C5 spray nozzles and reduce flush efficiency in a Drake II within two years. We descale and replace flush valves with genuine Toto parts, because aftermarket copies ghost-flush and leak.
- Tank-to-bowl gasket deterioration from heat cycling. Bathrooms without proper ventilation hit extreme temperatures during San Antonio summers, weeks at a stretch above 100°F. Gaskets dry, crack, and weep. We replace them on service calls before they leak onto the floor.
- Supply line stress fractures at the fill valve. On pier-and-beam homes, the framing shifts seasonally. That movement transfers to the rigid supply line, and over time the fill valve connection cracks. We see this on westside bungalows and near-southside pier-and-beam houses regularly.
- Aquia wall-hung carrier misalignment. The Aquia’s in-wall carrier needs precise framing and blocking. On remodels where we open walls in San Antonio’s older limestone-block homes, we often find carriers installed with incorrect blocking that lets the toilet flex. That’s a demolition-and-reframe detail, not a parts swap.

AfterToto Service in San Antonio: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment
Here’s the thing no one tells you about Toto installation in San Antonio. North of Loop 1604 along the IH-10 corridor, much of the construction sits inside the Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone. SAWS stormwater rules there cap how many square feet of roof and paving can drain directly to the sewer main. When we remodel a bathroom in Stone Oak or Helotes and add a walk-in shower, the shower drain often has to route through an on-site retention swale or dry well instead of tying into the sewer. That’s a real engineering constraint that doesn’t apply to jobs south of Hildebrand. It changes where we place the drain, how we slope the shower pan, and how much the job costs. Toto fixtures themselves don’t care which side of the escarpment they’re on, but the plumbing beneath them absolutely does. If you’re planning a bathroom remodel north of 1604, expect the drainage plan to be part of the written scope, not an afterthought.
Toto Models & Products We Service in San Antonio

We service the Toto Drake II, Ultramax II, Aquia Wall-Hung, and Washlet C5 lines, plus most residential models Toto has sold in the U.S. over the last two decades. Our parts policy is straightforward: genuine Toto parts for anything critical, flush valves, fill valves, and anything that seals. Aftermarket parts don’t hold the same tolerances, and we’ve seen ghost flushing from a copycat flapper on a Drake II more times than we can count. For cosmetic trim and seats, we’ll discuss aftermarket options if you want a specific finish or an upgrade path that Toto doesn’t offer in that configuration. We stock common Toto flush valves, fill valves, and gaskets locally, which keeps most San Antonio service work to a single visit.
Toto Service Pricing in San Antonio
Here’s what Toto-related construction work costs in San Antonio, in writing. These are flat ranges for bathrooms where Toto fixtures are being serviced or integrated into a remodel. Prices include the fixture work, but the final number depends on what we find when we open the floor or wall.
| Service | Price Range |
|---|---|
| Full Bathroom Remodel with Toto fixture reinstall | $9,000-$28,000 |
| Walk-In Shower Installation | $4,500-$12,000 |
| Tub-to-Shower Conversion | $3,500-$10,000 |
What drives cost in San Antonio more than anywhere else is what’s under the floor. Expansive clay on the south and east sides means we may need to address slab movement before tying in new plumbing. Limestone on the north side means trenching takes longer. A free estimate from us includes an on-site inspection and a written line-item price, not a phone guess. Call (470) 298-9650 to schedule yours.

FAQs - Toto Construction in San Antonio
My Toto toilet rocks slightly on my San Antonio slab home. Is that a serious problem?
Yes, it’s a slab movement signal. The rocking means the wax ring is being sheared, which means water is slowly leaking into the subfloor every time you sit. On San Antonio’s post-tension slabs, we see this most often in Vertisol clay zones where drought cycles have shifted the slab by half an inch or more. The fix is a flange reset with stainless anchors and a reinforced ring, and it should be done before the leak rots the subfloor. Call (470) 298-9650 for a slab inspection and a written estimate.
Can you install a Toto Washlet on a pre-2000 bathroom without dedicated GFCI power near the toilet?
It depends on the circuit. Most pre-2000 San Antonio bathrooms have a single 15-amp circuit shared with other rooms, and the Washlet needs its own GFCI-protected branch. We’ll run a new dedicated circuit from the panel, which in older limestone-block or pier-and-beam homes often requires surface-mount conduit or crawl-space routing. The installation is straightforward, but the electrical work is the variable. Get a written price for both the fixture and the electrical before committing.
Will Toto’s warranty still apply if your independent crew installs or repairs my Toto toilet?
Toto’s warranty covers manufacturing defects in the fixture itself, not the installation labor. We’re an independent contractor, not an authorized Toto service provider, so our labor warranty is separate and written, it’s the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If something we installed fails because of our workmanship, we fix it. The Toto fixture’s own warranty remains in force for its stated terms, but Toto won’t cover labor for removal and reinstallation. We state that in the written scope before work begins.
I’m converting a tub to a walk-in shower on the far north side. Does the Aquifer Recharge Zone change how you handle the shower drain?
Yes, it does. In the Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone, north of Loop 1604 along the IH-10 corridor, SAWS limits how much roof and paving can drain to the sewer main. That means your new shower drain may need to route through an on-site retention swale or dry well instead of tying directly into the sewer. It changes the drain placement, the slope, and the price. South of Hildebrand, this requirement doesn’t apply. Call (470) 298-9650 for a site-specific drainage review before you commit to the conversion.
What Toto model do you recommend for a bathroom remodel where the existing rough-in is 10 inches rather than the standard 12?
The Toto Drake II comes in a 10-inch rough-in configuration, and it’s our default recommendation for that situation. The Ultramax II also has a 10-inch version, but the Drake II’s bowl shape tends to fit tighter spaces better. Both are legitimate options. The key is confirming the rough-in measurement correctly before ordering, a 10-inch rough-in with a 12-inch toilet leaves a gap behind the tank that looks wrong and stresses the supply line. We measure and document that in the written scope.
