ViewLux Kitchen Remodeling: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide

ViewLux kitchen remodeling in Los Angeles typically runs $16,520 to $53,100 installed, with the spread driven by cabinet count, countertop material, and whether load-bearing walls move. We stock ViewLux-compatible hardware, hinges, drawer slides, and door fronts, and we can usually source discontinued ViewLux cabinet doors within 7 to 10 days. Most owners discover a problem the same way: a drawer starts catching, a soft-close hinge goes stiff, or a door front delaminates after years of steam exposure from the range.

If you’re reading this, you probably have a ViewLux kitchen that’s mostly fine, but one part has failed and you want it matched without replacing the whole kitchen. That’s the exact job we take on most weeks across Los Angeles, from Silver Lake to Sherman Oaks to Torrance.

Rowan Construction Group is an independent contractor. We are not affiliated with ViewLux, but we’ve worked on enough ViewLux kitchens to know their hardware specs, door sizing conventions, and the weak points that show up after 8 to 12 years of daily use.

Which ViewLux Models This Applies To

ViewLux cabinets have shipped under several series lines over the years, and the part you need depends on which one you have. The three we see most in Los Angeles are the Essential line (frameless, 5/8″ box construction), the Signature line (frameless with thicker 3/4″ box panels and soft-close as standard), and the older Classic series, which predates the current soft-close hinge standard and uses a different hinge cup diameter.

The fastest way to identify what you have: open a door and look at the hinge. Current ViewLux lines use a 35mm cup hinge with a clip-on mounting plate; the older Classic series used a 26mm cup, which is no longer manufactured by ViewLux but is available as a quality aftermarket equivalent through Blum or Salice. If the hinge is stamped with a number on the arm, that’s the manufacturer’s code and lets us cross-reference it directly.

For drawers, the undermount slide width is the key measurement. ViewLux Signature drawer boxes sit on 45mm undermount slides, while the Essential line runs 42mm. They are not interchangeable, and forcing one into the other is how drawer boxes get cracked.

We stock genuine ViewLux carryover parts and, where ViewLux has discontinued a component, quality aftermarket equivalents that match the bore pattern and finish. We’ll tell you which one we’re quoting and why.

Signs Your ViewLux Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing

Signs Your ViewLux Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
  • Soft-close hinges that no longer soft-close. The internal damping fluid has leaked or dried out, which happens faster in dry climates. It’s not repairable; the hinge gets replaced. We see this most often on doors near the dishwasher or oven, where heat accelerates the failure.
  • Drawer fronts that sit crooked or bind on the frame. On frameless cabinets, this almost always traces to a failed undermount slide or a loosened clip. Sometimes the drawer box itself has warped from moisture under the sink.
  • Door fronts that delaminate at the bottom edge. Steam from dishwashers and stovetops works its way between the laminate and the MDF core. Once it starts, it spreads. The fix is a new door front, color-matched to the existing boxes.
  • Adjustment screws that won’t hold position. If a door drifts after you adjust it, the hinge plate or the screw boss in the cabinet panel is stripped. Replacing the hinge alone won’t solve it; the mounting point needs reinforcement.
  • Sagging shelves or cracked shelf pins. ViewLux shelf pins are nylon and get brittle with age. A cracked pin can drop a shelf loaded with dishes. If you hear a creak when you load a shelf, check the pins before it lets go.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For Los Angeles kitchens, here’s what we quote, in writing, before any work starts:

  • Full ViewLux kitchen remodel: $16,520-$53,100
  • Smaller ViewLux kitchen refresh (doors, hardware, countertop swap): $10,620-$23,600
  • Cabinet installation (new ViewLux-compatible boxes): $4,720-$15,340
  • Countertop installation: $2,360-$7,670
  • Backsplash installation: $945-$2,950
  • Kitchen island installation: $3,540-$11,800

What drives the range is cabinet count and whether your existing boxes can be reused. A door-and-hardware refresh on a 10-cabinet kitchen sits at the low end; a full tear-out with new boxes, crown molding, and a Cambria or Caesarstone countertop moves toward the high end. We quote a flat written price with a written scope and a written warranty. No work proceeds on a change until you sign the change order, which is why our projects finish within a few percent of the number we agreed on. That’s Clause 1 of the Haven Standard, and it’s been how we’ve delivered more than 4,000 Los Angeles projects since 2007.

DIY or Call Us?

Some things you can handle without us. If a drawer slide clips in and out, you can check the clip; if a hinge needs a quarter-turn of the adjustment screw, go ahead. What you shouldn’t do is try to remove a frameless cabinet door by drilling out the hinge because the spring-loaded plate is under tension and can snap a fingertip when it releases. We’ve also seen DIYers strip the screw boss in the cabinet panel trying to mount a new hinge without a jig, and that turns a $25 part into a $700 panel repair.

If the failure is structural, electrical, or involves gas lines behind the cabinets, stop and call us at (470) 298-9650. We’ll tell you over the phone whether it warrants a visit, and if we come out, you get a documented photo record of what we found, included as standard.
